1. Before attempting to change your breathing pattern, slow down.
2. Focus on taking long, deep breaths.
3. Breathe deeply from your diaphragm (belly) more than your chest. Breathing from your chest is more shallow).
4. Exhale more fully; this removes more CO2 and allows more oxygen to be inhaled.
5. Breathe through your mouth & nose.
6. Try to take three steps for every inhale, and two steps for every exhale.
